AIEEE
All India Engineering Entrance Examination
For close to a decade now, the All India Engineering Entrance Examination has been organized and done all over India. It is one of a kind, since it is used to choose the best from among millions of applicants who want to join institutions of higher learning all over India. This is an engineering exam for engineering and architecture courses. There are many institutions that view this exam as a standard for admission of their students. Usually, this exam takes place in the last week of April each year and the results releases a month later. AIEEE was set up to maintain professional standards in the fields of engineering in India and with the varying qualification standards in many institutions, it was meant to bring all of them to the same level. Among the challenges that AIEEE solved was the problem of hassling to keep up with the standards of many institutions of their learning and the payment of tens of admission fees; which can be draining. It can be expensive to travel to the examination centers and to keep up with the schedules of the many entrance exams of engineering institutions and AIEEE was created to solve that.
The AIEEE has four papers; the first two have objective questions and the last papers which are designed for architecture courses applicants alone. This paper is used to test the aptitude of the architecture course applicants, which will determine how good they are at what they do. The first paper has physics, chemistry and mathematics question and the third paper is a pure mathematical paper. The AIEEE exam strongly discourages guessing since wrong answers will lead to the deduction of one mark of the total. A correct answer will add the candidate three marks. Interestingly, it is better for one to leave a question unanswered than to give a wrong answer since there is no deduction of marks for an unanswered question. Incase one gives two answers it will be deemed wrong even if one of the two answers is the right one. This will lead to the deduction of one mark as per the paper.
In 2010, more than a million applicants sat the examination in the numerous examination centers all over India. Over the years, there has been a need to keep up with the number of applicants and to provide for less manual work and therefore a bulk of AIEEE applications are done online. The administration of AIEEE is planning to introduce more subjects of examination for several other courses in these universities, so this will mean more applicants. A percentage of applicants will opt to sit for online examination, due to the constraints of time and travel. Candidates who want to sit the online exam have to choose this option online and pay the requisite amount of money for application. Usually, more money is paid by those who want to take their exams online because of the convenience of studying and sitting the examination online. For more information about sitting the exam online, candidates are advised to look them up in the formal AIEEE website.
Those who opt for offline examinations have to pay the requisite application fees as well, using the modes that have been given on the site. Payment of the money needs to be done before the given deadline otherwise the application will not be considered. Since payment by credit card is more or less instant, this is a message directed towards those who choose to make payments using other means, which are not instant. When paying using credit card, you will bear the cost of the transaction and you will have to note down the payment receipt number for your records.
