The qualification percentage of physically and socially disadvantaged applicants has also been relaxed to cater for their special needs. All applicants have to provide proof of their age before sitting the examination.

The combination exam papers of physics, chemistry and mathematics will be sat by those applicants wishing to pursue B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical & Automation Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Instrumentation & Control Engineering. In each of the papers, the applicant will be required to score at least 33.33%.

The exam papers of applied mechanics, applied mathematics, fundamentals of electrical engineering and electronics, fundamentals of mechanical engineering & computer awareness will be sat by those who are applying for lateral entry into B.Tech (engineering/technology) programs with each of the papers requiring a passed grade of 25% finally the combination of the exam papers of physics, chemistry biology (botany and zoology) or biotechnology will be sat by the applicants of B.Tech/M.Tech (Bio-Technology) courses.

The 2011 dates for the Nursing entrance test for Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University have not yet been set, it is expected that they will be set soon.
