Candidates who want to sit the MHT-CET must have passed in 10+2 with a bias in English, physics, chemistry and mathematics. All these subjects need to have a score of at least 50% combined except for those in special interest groups whose marks are relaxed by 5%. Candidates who sit the MHT-CET have to be Indian nationals resident in India. There is no special consideration for those who do not reside in India or those who are of Indian origin. MHT-CET is a preserve of Indian nationals alone. Indian nationals who are not residents of Maharashtra can sit this examination except those who hail from Jammu and Kashmir except when the government of India ministry of human resources sanctions it. This section has to be reviewed in time for one to be allowed to sit this examination.
MHT-CET is relatively simple in its organization, since one need to sit only two papers. The first paper is the physics and chemistry paper, with two sections that have 50 marks each. The mathematics paper is the second one, with 100 marks in total. Since this is an examination for entry into undergraduate courses in this state, you can expect that the syllabus is the same as that of the secondary school examination body of Maharashtra. All the questions have four multiple choices, with only one right answer.
MHT-CET is done by applicants to engineering, pharmacy and health science courses. Applicants who want to pursue veterinary science have to be subject to the standards of the medical education and research, as this will be the body to determine who among them has passed well. The technical education director is the one to select engineering applicants. Candidates applying for engineering and pharmacy courses but are not citizens of the state of Maharashtra will be considered if they are making applications to private institutions which have been recognized by the board of this examination.
As with any other entrance examination, applications for MHT-CET have to be well filled and received in time. Those who will not be using the internet for application and payment are especially advised to make sure they have filled applications in time and sent money. Candidates who do not hail from Maharashtra will pay more for applications compared to applicants who are residents of this state.
