National Management Aptitude Test

This is an examination conducted by the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal, one of the best institutions of higher learning in Mumbai India. This is an institution that has prided itself with being one of the highest quality providers of professional business education. It is one of the best institutions in India and its admissions are sought after by students all over the world.  Applicants are supposed to sit the NMAT examination to be admitted into this institution for a fulltime program.  Its MBA program is also one of the most sought after programs and this institution uses NMAT as a test to determine who among the applicants is best fit for admission into the institution.

Eligible candidates are those who have a bachelors degree from recognized institution with at least an aggregate of 50% for those who do not have the benefit of experience in the fields of business, they are supposed to have an impressive score to be allowed to study in this institutions. This means that applications can also be allowed from those students who are working on their final examination for their degree courses. It does not matter the kind of degree course it is, but the candidate has to prove the he has the scores needed. Those with business related degree courses have an added advantage, although not that much.

The standards of NMAT have been used to determine the number of applicants needed to enter into the Narsee Monjee Insitute of managed studies in Mumbai. The questions in the exam have multiple choices and will test the skills of the applicant in data interpretation and logical reasoning among others. It is important that the applicant knows the language of business-English and so his language skills will also be put to the test by this examination.  The two stage process will determine if the candidate can be shortlisted and admitted into the institutions. Those who have been shortlisted will get admitted and will be required to attend personal interviews and group discussions depending on the program.  There is only one center for the conduction of group discussions and personal interviews and this is Mumbai. There are many types of MBA specialty courses whose applicants must sit this examination. These courses include MBA fulltime course, actuarial science, banking management, capital markets human resource management and pharmaceutical management.

The NMAT examination lasts 120 minutes and consists of multiple choice questions. This is only the first stage of the examination, with the second stage being the group discussion and the interview parts.  The last part is the merit list, which will be written after the candidates have attended the counseling session. NMAT takes about three months to cover all the three core areas of the NMAT. The results of the NMAT 2011 exams have already been declared, applicants who want to join this institution will apply for the 2012 intake examination to be held later in 2011.

NMAT allows for online registration, since it is faster and more efficient as it has less paperwork. Online registrations have the advantage of the fact that they are always open for longer. Either way, this is the only form of application available for any interested applicant. The confirmation of registration will be received thought the internet, so one needs to make use of an email address that is current. Any error in application will not be tolerated. This means inaccurate information, false information, late application, late payment or lack of payment. Payment methods have been provided in the online application form and so one needs to use one that he is mostly suited for.
