Rajasthan University LLB Entrance Test

RULET (Rajasthan University LLB Entrance Test) is an entrance test conducted by the University of Rajasthan for its LLB program. The Rajasthan University is one of the most prestigious educational institutes in India. Established in January 1947 as the University of Rajputana, it is the oldest university in the State of Rajasthan. This multi-faculty university imparts higher education to students and prepares them to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The Law Faculty of the University of Rajasthan was established in 2008 with the aim of providing in depth legal knowledge both practical and analytic to students interested in pursuing law as a career. This university offers a five year undergraduate integrated law course. The entire course is divided into ten semesters and six subjects are taught in each semester. It is mandatory for the undergraduate students to complete internship at different law firms at the end of the course. The successful students are then awarded with a BA LLB degree. About RULET

There are a total of 120 seats and additional 5 seats for Non Resident Indians (NRI). Students who have cleared from the Higher Secondary/ Intermediate/ 10+2 exam from a recognized board with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for admission. SC/ST students are given a relaxation of 5% marks. The age of the candidate should not exceed 21 years.

Those students seeking admissions at the Law College of the University of Rajasthan should clear the entrance test RULET which judges them on their knowledge, and speaking abilities.  The three hundred marks RULET is divided into three sections.

  1. Entrance Test (200 marks)
  2. Personal Interview (60 marks)
  3. Group Discussion (40 marks)

The exam lasts for two hours and is based on multiple choice questions; the students are given four choices to fill in the objective. The entrance exam tests the students on their mental abilities, reasoning, general knowledge and grasp on the English language. Except for English language test which carries 50 marks all other sections are of 30 marks each. The break up of marks and subjects where students are tested is as follows

  1. Test of Language ability (50 marks)
  2. Test of reasoning (30 marks)
  3. Aptitude of learning (30 marks)
  4. General Knowledge (30 marks)
  5. Social Studies (30 marks)
  6. General Science (30 marks)

Those candidates who clear the entrance test are placed on a merit list; however being on the merit list does not guarantee admission; the candidates have to do exceptionally well  in the Personal Interview and the Group Discussion which follow the entrance test.

Syllabus of the RULET

The aspiring candidates often inquire about the pattern of the entrance test and make queries about the syllabus. The candidates can download a sample test paper which will provide them useful guidance. As the English Ability Section contains the most marks, the candidates should practice vocabulary, rules of grammar, idioms, synonyms, antonyms and single word substitution. The candidates need to practice comprehension and poems.

In order to score better in the general science, social studies, general knowledge and legal reasoning sections; the candidates need to  have a thorough knowledge of these subjects which can be gained from books, magazines and newspaper articles related to these topics. Also the candidate must be updated with the national and international economic, political, social, cultural and sports events and must also be aware of the World Records, famous books and authors besides being familiar with the famous awards and prizes and international organizations. The candidates must also revise the 10+2 course. The candidate should also thoroughly study the constitutional laws and main legal laws. To attempt the Aptitude of Learning section, books on the subject should be studied.
